Biele, C - portrait of a man
This miniature portrait is signed "C Biele". The sitter is unknown. 975
It is possible it was hand painted over a faint photographic base, in which case C. Biele may be the photographer or a hand-colourist. I believe it dates to the 1930's.
The term "historical detective" may sound a little strange, but is the easiest way to express the intent of this research.
Seeking information to expand historical knowledge and finding, surprisingly often, "conventional wisdom" needs revision
